For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.Selah.
My Shelter in Place
When I hear the term “Shelter in Place” I am reminded of staying put or told to keep still of where I am. We can view our homes as our shelter as they protect us. When we are in the confines of our home we feel safe and secure. On the opposite end though we can feel shut in, stuffy, and perhaps confined or locked in.
Today let us examine God as being “God the Shelter” . These 2 powerful Scriptures attest to God being the Shelter. We seek comfort in Him, protection and security. We need not to view Him as anything opposite. Let us be reminded that our homes can be destroyed by fire or other such peril, even burglarized or lost as a result of financial hardhip. However as the Scripture indicates in Vs. 4 “I will abide in Your tabernacle forever”. This means Always! How encouraging to know that our Savior is the Shelter that can not be destroyed, moved, or lost! Take courage this morning and remember that we “Shelter in Place” we are really dwelling in the presence of the Almighty and in Him we can be reassured that nothing or no one can take Him from us.
